Traveling Mongolia in winter unveils another layer of its mysterious beauty. You’ll journey to western Mongolia to experience the authentic Eagle Hunting culture, a centuries-old tradition kept alive by the Mongolian Kazakhs. Your adventure then takes you to North Mongolia, where you’ll explore the unfrozen beauty of the Jargalant River and marvel at its surroundings. The highlight of the tour is the profound immersion into the captivating world of reindeer herders and nomadic families. Among the vast wilderness, you’ll discover a lifestyle deeply rooted in ancient traditions and a close connection with nature. Wandering through the wilds of the Taiga alongside the mystical Tsaatan people offers a glimpse into their primal way of life, spending nights in teepees and awakening to the serene scenery of Northern Mongolia.

Day 1-Arrive at Ulaanbaatar capital city of Mongolia

Upon your arrival at Chinggis Khan International Airport, our friendly driver and guide will be there to greet you warmly. We'll begin your journey with a drive to your chosen hotel for a smooth and comfortable transfer. The adventure starts a lively local outdoor market, where you can soak in the vibrant atmosphere, explore a variety of goods, and experience the local culture. Next, we'll visit the stunning Gandan Monastery, a significant spiritual and cultural center featuring architecture. You'll have the chance to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and perhaps take a moment for reflection. this spiritual experience, we'll explore Mongolia's rich history at the National Museum, which offers insights into the nation's past,, and cultural heritage. As the day comes to a close, you'll have free time in Ulaanbaatar to discover at your leisure, whether means wandering through the streets, sampling local dishes, or just unwinding. Your overnight stay at hotel will ensure a comfortable end to your first day in Mongolia, preparing you for the exciting adventures that lie ahead.

Day 2- From Ulaanbatar city to Kharkhorum old capital of Mongolia 

We begin our journey by departing from Ulaanbaatar and making our way to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia. Along the route, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Little Gobi, just outside of Khustai, where you can climb small sand dunes and possibly ride camels, depending on local herders. This marks your first real adventure into the vast Mongolian countryside. After lunch, we’ll continue to Karakorum, the 13th-century capital of Chinggis Khaan's Mongolian Empire, where you can explore the ruins of this historic city with your guide, who will fascinating insights about its past. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kharkhorin.

Day 3 - Kharkhorum old capital of Mongolia to Murun

We will drive from Kharkhorum along picturesque roads to Murun. A third of the route will be on dirt roads, winding through mountainous passes, forests, and the vast steppes of Mongolia. We will pause at a stunning location for lunch along the way. The total distance is 465 km, and we will stay at a hotel in Murun.

Day 4 - Drive from Murun to Khovsgol lake 

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Khuvsgul Lake by car at 8: AM. Khuvsgul Lake, often referred to as the Blue Pearl Lake, is surrounded by stunning forested mountains and ranks as one of Mongolia largest lakes. Expect a beautiful day filled with diverse landscapes that change every 2-3 hours as we drive through picturesque passes, mountains, and canyons. We’ll engage in thrilling activities on the ice while soaking in the breathtaking natural scenery. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Murun City (Khuvsgul province) and check into our hotel.

Day 5 - Drive from Murun to Gurvansaikhan village 

Embark on a journey northward to explore the Reindeer herders in the Taiga. Along the way, you’ll traverse stunning mountainous terrain and serene valleys, passing through the local town of Ulaan Uul. As you drive through a pass near the town, you’ll encounter the picturesque 13 shamanic “Ovoo,” symbolizing the entrance to the land of shamans. Furthermore, will visit local nomadic shaman family in Darkhad village and get involved in their cultures. Furtherly, we’ll drive to the Gurvansaikhan village and stay overnight in a small local hotel.

Day 6 - Reindeer Herder Families in northern Taiga

We will venture deeper into the Taiga mountains until we arrive at the heart of the region, home to the reindeer herders. Here, we will fully engage with their way of life and traditions. This day will be dedicated to experiencing their culture, including the chance to ride reindeer and discover the enchanting Taiga forests. You'll have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and take in the stunning landscapes of the Taiga. At afternoon we drive back to Gurvansaikhan village to stay in hotel. 

Day 7 - Back to Murun from Gurvansaikhan village 

After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel approximately 65 km from the village to arrive at the Jargalant River. The scenery surrounding the river is stunning, and despite the cold temperatures in Mongolia, the Jargalant River remains ice-free. While some locals enjoy ice baths in the, we advise against it unless you are experienced. Exploring the area around the Jargalant River and having lunch there is a delightful experience during winter tours in Mongolia. Following our visit, we’ll drive to Murun and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 - Murun to Tosontsengel city Zavkhan province 

After breakfast at hotel we would drive toward to Tosontsengel city of Zavkhan province. We would drive through beautiful passes, mountains and canyons. Most of the distance we would drive on paved road. We would stop by some beautiful view points. Late afternoon we would get to Tosontsengel city (Zavkhan province) and stay at Hotel. 

Day 9 - Tosontsengel to Ulaangom city Uvs province

Prepare for a day of long-distance driving. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will depart from Tosontsengel. Our journey will take us through stunning mountain passes and serene lakes. We will stop for lunch at Khyargas Lake before arriving in Ulaangom city, where you can unwind at your hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant

Day 10 - Ulaangom to Ulgii ctiy Bayan-Ulgii province

After breakfast, we embark on our journey to Bayan-Ulgii province. Departing from Ulangom city, we'll travel along dirt roads, stopping at beautiful spots to capture photos of herds We’ll enjoy lunch at a local family home. After a long day of driving, we will arrive in Ulgii city and spend the night at a hotel.

Day 11 - Ulgii to Dayan valley 

After breakfast, we will drive to Dayan Valley. the way, we will meet a local nomadic family and have the opportunity to ride some horses. Mongolian horses are known for being easy to manage and ride. Following a brief riding instruction, we will saddle up and embark on a scenic ride toward Dayan Valley. By afternoon, we will enjoy lunch at the home of a local nomadic family. After lunch, we will continue our drive to our camp, where you will find gers that we'll use for our two-night stay, including overnight and dinner at the camp.

Day 12 - Fishing and real eagle hunting 

Savor a Western-style breakfast at the camp before embarking on 6 km drive to the fishing spot at Dayan Lake. Fishing is an exciting activity, and with a bit of luck, we’ll enjoy about three hours of ice fishing. Afterward, we’ll visit a local nomad family to explore their unique culture and lifestyle. Then return to the camp to meet 2-3 eagle hunters and experience real-life eagle hunting with them. Don’t miss to capture stunning sunset photos of the mountains before spending the night at the camp.

Day 13 - Back to Ulgii city 

The adventure kicks off with an early back to Olgii. After lunch, we will arrive at Sagsai village, home to many eagle hunter families. You'll have the opportunity to meet a local eagle hunting family, immerse yourself in their culture, and form personal connections. in their daily routines by feeding livestock, milking cows, assisting herding animals and cleaning shelters. After experiencing nomadic life, we'll return to Ulgii, where you'll be transferred to your hotel for dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 14 - Fly back to Ulaanbaatar city

We would depart Ulgii at 09:00 in the morning and arrive to UB by 12:00. You would get transferred to hotel after you arrive to UB airport. Then you would have the whole afternoon to explore the city or shopping. Mongolian cashmere products are popular. By 19:00 we would have farewell dinner.

Day 15 - Home sweet home

You would get transferred to airport for your international flight. Hotel check out time is 13:00
